Rooftop Photovoltaic System of Water Resources Planning Institute

The equivalent sunshine hour in Taichung is about 3.5 hours, which is suitable for solar power generation development. Water Resources Planning Institute rent roof to JET Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. to build, operate and management the Rooftop Photovoltaic. It corresponds to government's renewable energy policy to promote the green energy industry. Replacing coal-fired power generation with solar energy can reduce the greenhouse gases emissions and the global warming impact.

The solar power generation system of Water Resources Planning Institute (figure 1) started on 24th August 2020 and the cumulative of power generation was about 1.11 million kwh (Figure 2 and Table 1) till 30th June 2021, which is equivalent to 560 thousand kg of CO2 emissions or 308 households energy used for one year.
