  1. Background

    Taimali River, located in Taitung County, originates from the southern part of the Central Mountain Range. The main stream is 35 kilometers long and the catchment is 226.3 square kilometers. Both typhoon Haitang, on July 18, 1994, and typhoon Morakot, on August, 2009, caused a major catastrophe. The planning of Taimali River, therefore, was definitely required and was executed by Water Resources Planning Institute. In 2010, the planning project was completely finished.

  3. Treatment measures

    The project includes new levee construction of 8,820 meters and levee improvement construction of 2,500 meters. The sketch of project in downstream of Taimali River is shown in Figure 1.
