Taiwan- USA exchanges & collaboration
Since 1988 to 2017, Water Resources Agency and the Bureau of Reclamation has 30 years of deep friendship and fruitful results. From Shimen Reservoir, Baoshan Second Reservoir, Liyutan Reservoir, South to Hushan Reservoir, Zengwen Reservoir, Nanhua Reservoir and Mudan Reservoir the Bureau of Reclamation all involved with technical consultation and assistance (shown in Figure 1). In the future, we will extend collaboration and further exchange to face future climate change challenge. Figure 2 is the group photo of the 2018 TECRO- AIT Water Resources Technology Cooperation Project.

The New Southbound Policy
Under the globalization and global villages trends, Taiwan has integrated decades of countermeasures for water resources development and drought management under extreme climate change.
Since 2016, we (WRPI) comply with the government strategy to promote the New Southbound Policy.
We invited scholars and experts from Southeast Asian countries and shared Taiwan's experience to reach the goal of mutual benefits. (shown in Figure 3, Figure 4).

Water resources managements training courses
Water resources planning institute collaborated with Taiwan ICDF and The US bureau of reclamation for the water resources management training courses and workshop from 2019. The topic of the workshop is about water resources management and last for two weeks. The workshop included a tour visit of representative water resouces facilities in Taiwan. The workshop also included cultural tours for the international participants to familiar with the uniqueness of Taiwan.
30 participants from 17 countries over five continents (2 from Oceania, 16 from Asia, 2 from Africa, 8 from America, 2 from Europe). 73% of participants worked as government officials, 20% of the participants were from private sectors, and 7% of the participants were from schools. Taiwan exchanged the experience about water resources management to participants, built further relationship for each other and seek to find the sustainable way of water resources for their home country through the workshop.

Future Direction
Taiwan's decades of water resources technology and experience can be the basis for international collaboration and technical training. We’ll further extend Taiwan's water experience and raising the global vision of domestic water departments.
