To enhance the effectiveness of runoff control measures, our department held an expert consultation seminar on July 8, 2025, at the Taipei office of the Water Resources Agency. This seminar was part of the self-initiated project "Revision, Supplementary Investigation, and Promotion of the Runoff Control Technical Manual." We invited experts in the field of water resources, including Mr. Ling Bong-Hui, Chairman of the Taiwan Professional Hydraulic Engineer Association, and Mr. Wang Chun-Kuan, Chairman of the Taipei Professional Hydraulic Engineer Association, to discuss how to optimize the runoff control technical manual further to address various case scenarios encountered in practical operations.
The meeting focused on the following key issues:
🔸 Incorporation of green buildings and raft foundations into runoff control measures
🔸 Evaluation of the embankment effect in linear development projects
🔸 Exploration of newly established dedicated external drainage systems
In-depth discussions on these issues will help improve our ability to handle various runoff control cases. We hope these revisions will provide more comprehensive and practical guidelines and strategies for future runoff control measures, thereby more effectively addressing multiple challenges.
