The Naio-Zuei-Tan Artificial Lake on-site laboratory of the Water Resources Planning Institute (WRPI) officially opened this year. The laboratory locates in Nantou County next to the Central Region Water Resources Offices and the Bureau of Engineering Services (BES) Engineering Corporation's construction site office. Local elected representatives and relevant subcontractors joined the opening ceremony together. The Water Resources Agency (WRA) Director-General Dr. Lai, Chien-Hsin said the Naio-Zuei-Tan Artificial Lake project had moved forward from the planning and design stage to the construction stage. Thanks to all participators for their years of hard work. Based on the experience of the Hushan Reservoir and the Jhongjhung Artificial Lake project, WRA will ensure the quality and safety of the Naio-Zuei-Tan Artificial Lake project to create a better water environment and stimulate local prosperity. The picture of Dr. Lai (Director-General of WRA) and the WRPI Director Dr. Chen jointly unveiled the plaque of the on-site laboratory is shown as Fig. 1. WRPI Director Chen, Chun-Hung said that the quality inspection tests play a crucial role during the construction process. WRPI invested a lot of time and effort in the establishment of the Naio-Zuei-Tan Artificial Lake on-site laboratory. After the on-site laboratory gets Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) accreditation, the laboratory will provide geotechnical tests and guarantee better quality control for this water resources project. In the future construction stage, WRPI will optimize the on-site laboratory performance to fully cooperate with the whole construction project and achieve the goal together.
