WRPI held the 2021 TECRO-AIT Water Resources Cooperation Program, Appendix #6 "Technical Guideline for Design and Construction of Plastic Concrete Cutoff Walls" Review video Conference

Water Resource Planning Institute (WRPI) held the 2021 TECRO-AIT Water Resources Cooperation Program, Appendix #6 "Technical Guideline for Design and Construction of Plastic Concrete Cutoff Walls" review video conference on August 13th (Friday). The participants include experts from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), Water Resources Agency (WRA), Northern Region Water Resources Office (NRWRO), Central Region Water Resources Office (CRWRO), Southern Region Water Resources Office (SRWRO), Kao, Hsien-Chang, Deputy director Geotechnical Engineering Research Center, Sinotech Engineering Consultants, Ltd. and the Water Resources Planning Institutes (WRPI).

The WRPI translated the Chinese version of technical guideline into English and invited the experts from the USBR to join this video conference and review the English version technical guideline. During the meeting, the WRPI introduced the contents of this technical guideline, and Central Region Water Resources Office introduced” Wu River Niaozueitan Artificial Lake Engineering project design and construction. Both sides Taiwan Water Resources Agency and the USBR discussed enthusiastically.

Director Chen, Chun-Hung, Water Resources Planning Institute said,” The collaboration between Taiwan Water Resources Agency (WRA) and the USBR is under TECRO-AIT Water Resources Cooperation Program (Appendix No. 6) since 1987. Both sides have benefited a lot. Through this time of breakthrough cooperation mode indeed enhance the collaborative relationship between both sides. This time of collaboration experience also keeps promoting Taiwan's unique plastic concrete cutoff wall construction experience.

The USBR provided relevant comments and suggestions on the "Technical Guideline for Design and Construction of Plastic Concrete Cutoff Walls" developed by the WRPI at the meeting. The WRPI responded to the USBR's comments one by one. The USBR also recognized the water tightness construction sequence for the plastic concrete cutoff wall of the Wu River Niaozueitan Artificial Lake Engineering project. Taiwan WRA and the USBR took this opportunity to exchange knowledge to deepen and strengthen the collaboration relationship. Both sides are all expecting the future collaboration.
