Understanding Water, Professionals - Sharing and Symbiosis of Jianan Water Culture

The forum of the "Taiwan Water Culture" series 1"

Understanding Water, Professionals - Sharing and Symbiosis of Jianan Water Culture" took place on September 10 in Tainan (Jianan Management Office of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources), hold by The National Museum of Taiwan History ( as shown in Fig.1).

Through this forum, hydraulics workers share how the domestic water in our daily life comes from. It can be helpful to let local residents understand the importance of water resources and encourage them to care about the issue of water.

Deputy director Ye of WRPI was invited to participate the forum and gave a comment, as shown in Fig.2. Deputy director Ye took the occasion of Taiwan’s worst drought in 56 years as an example to introduce how WRA executed preemptive preparation. It helps attendants have a basic understanding of the 4 strategies (development, water saving, relocation, back up) for stable water supply, and the sweetness and bitterness of work for water.
