2022 Water Environment Improvement Master planning Co-Learning Camp

On August 31, 2021, the Water Resources Agency, MOEA revised "Notes on the Water Environment Improvement Plan", making the Master planning be the city's guidance for water environment improvements. Before implementing the water improvement plan, it should systematically check, review and analyze the current water management resources, issues and improvement needs of the entire river basin, to avoid arbitrary selection of implementation cases due to lack of criteria. The promotion of each case needs to ensure meeting the goals of restoring the vitality of the river and integration with surrounding areas to ensure the efficiency of resource investments.

To restore the vitality of the rivers and coasts, the Water Resources Planning Institute, WRA held an online co-learning camp on May 3, 5 and 9, 2022 (shown as Pic. 1). Participants from the river management offices and local government authorities gathered together to discuss the spirit and content of the master planning, shown as Pic. 2. This camp arranged the work team of each project to present their stage achievements in advance (as Pic. 3), then host invited the scholars and experts to give instructions and evaluate the stage achievements of each project (as Pic. 4). Through cross-regional learning and mutual exchange¸ the participants will be more familiar with the operational approach, and get closer to the spirit of master planning. This camp will be helpful to achieve the goal of coexistence between humans and rivers and restoring the vitality of rivers.
